The annual LGBT pride march took place in Jerusalem amidst tight police security.

A number of suspects who police suspected might be planning to disrupt the event were detained before the march got underway.

The event took place the day after Prime Minister Netanyahu appointed the country's first-ever openly gay minister- Amir Ohana , the new Justice Minister.

Ahead of the march, KAN's Mark Weiss spoke with Ofer Erez, the executive director of Jerusalem's Open House.
