The family of soldier Hadar Goldin, whose remains are still being held in Gaza, appealed to the Coordinator of Missing and Captured IDF Soldiers in the prime minister's office, demanding that Israel not return the  body of the Palestinian gunman killed in Thursday's clash on the Gaza border.

"Our appeal was made to ensure the government does not repeat its past mistakes and send back the body of a Hamas terrorist while Israeli soldiers and civilians are still being held in Gaza" the family said.

Thursday marked the 5-year anniversary of Hadar's capture.

Two hours after the UN brokered a ceasefire to end the 2014  Gaza war, Hamas  kidnapped 23-year-old Lt. Hadar Goldin and dragged him into an underground tunnel in Gaza.

After 5 years Hamas still refuses to hand over his remains.
