It’s been 50 years since the legendary Woodstock music festival took place in the United States. Well while none of the attempts to organize an anniversary show in the states bore fruit, Israel has succeeded. In Jerusalem, a two-day smoke and alcohol free event is scheduled to take place on August 29th-30th near the First Station with over 20 bands who will be performing some of the greatest hits from that watershed 1969 event. It’s being sponsored by Hitorerut Party. I spoke with Tracey Shipley who is a part of the cultural division of Hitorerut and the mastermind behind the Jerusalem Woodstock Festival.
