Against the backdrop of increased tensions along the Israel-Lebanon border, the United Nations Security Council voted on Thursday to extend by another year the mandate of UNIFIL, the international peacekeeping force stationed in south Lebanon. Ahead of the vote, KAN's Naomi Segal asked (res.) Brig. Gen. Assaf Orion, a senior research fellow at the Institute for National Security Studies  and former head of the strategic division in the IDF planning directorate for his assessment on UNIFIL's effectiveness.
