A new report has revealed serious flaws in the medical treatment provided by the Israel Prison Services to inmates in Israeli prisons. The report, prepared by the organization Physicians for Human Rights Israel, found substandard medical treatment, lack of regulation and oversight, and inefficient economic practices.  Among the central recommendations of the report, which will be presented on Tuesday at a conference by Physicians for Human Rights Israel at Tel Aviv University, is to transfer the medical unit from the prison services to the auspices of the Health Ministry. KAN reporter Naomi Segal heard more from  Anat Litvin, director of the prisoners and detainees department in Physicians for Human Rights Israel.
