The IDF said the Iron Dome early Tuesday intercepted four rockets that were fired from Syria at the Golan Heights. No one was hurt and no damage was caused. Syrian media soon after reported blasts near the international airport in Damascus but did not elaborate.

The rocket fire on the north came days after a cease-fire ended an escalation between the IDF and Iran-backed Islamic Jihad in the Gaza Strip, and against the backdrop of an Israeli military assessment that Iran intends to take more aggressive actions in the region. KAN reporter Naomi Segal asked Syria expert Prof. Eyal Zisser, Vice Rector of Tel Aviv University, for his take on the developments  in the north.
