An overwhelming majority of Israelis -- 82 percent -- doubt a government can be formed before a December 11 deadline, according to a recent poll released by the Israel Democracy Institute. Asked who is to blame for the failed attempts to form a government, 43 percent blamed Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, 38 percent Yisrael Beiteinu leader Avigdor Liberman, and 8 percent Blue and Party party leader Benny Gantz. In addition, a majority of Israelis believe that Netanyahu should leave his post – whether resign or temporarily – in light of the indictment against him. KAN reporter Naomi Segal heard more about the poll from Professor Tamar Hermann, head of the Guttman Center for Public Opinion and Policy Research at the Israel Democracy Institute.
