A new section of Northern Ramparts Walk of Jerusalem’s Old City Walls that goes from Herod’s Gate to Lion’s Gate is being inaugurated after a five year, 11 million shekel, renovation. Tourists will now be able to start at the Jaffa Gate and walk along the 500 year old walls of the Old City all the way to the Kidron Valley side and enter almost directly to the Via Dolorosa, passing the Christian and Muslim quarters. Michal Ben Atar, head of Tourism Development at the Department of East Jerusalem Development Company, spoke with us about the new ramparts walk.
