Attempts for Labor and Meretz/Democratic Union, both hovering close to the electoral threshold, to form a joint slate remain deadlocked.

 Labor chair Amir Peretz rejects such a scenario, arguing that running together would not increase the overall number of seats for the 2 left-wing parties. 

Labor has decided to maintain its partnership with Gesher, headed by Orly Levy-Abecassis.

It is unclear if Meretz will stick with the Democratic Union framework. 

Former Labor Knesset member Ayelet Nahmias-Verbin told KAN's Mark Weiss that it is essential that Labor and Meretz run together in the forthcoming election.
