The IDF and Shin Bet foiled an attempt by Hamas to breach the mobile devices of soldiers to contact and collect information. Hamas attempted to hack the phones by creating fake social media profiles and posing as young attractive women, some even claiming to be female immigrants or hard of hearing, in an attempt to hide their lack of Hebrew, to lure IDF soldiers to download malicious software. This was the third such ploy by Hamas in recent years. The IDF says no sensitive data was leaked in the scheme.

KAN's Naomi Segal spoke with Nimrod Aldaag, senior product manager at Cybereason, a cybersecurity technology company, about the hack and Hamas' efforts in this sphere.
