The Italian opera "L'Elisir D’Amore" will be mounted by the Jerusalem Opera later this month, with performances in Beer Sheva on February 22nd and Jerusalem on February 24. The two-act opera by composer Gaetano Donizetti, is set in a 19th century Italian village in summer and revolves around peasant Nemorino, who falls in love with Adina. It will be staged in  cooperation with the Israel Sinfonietta Beer Sheva. KAN's Naomi Segal heard more from Omer Arieli, music director of the Jerusalem Opera, which was founded in 2011 with the goal of creating an artistic hub for opera in Jerusalem.
