Israel's Ministry of Health has rolled out a new smartphone app that alerts users if they have visited a location at the same time as an individual who tested positive for Covid-19. The app, called "Hamagen" (The Shield), allows users to identify whether or not they have come in contact with a coronavirus carrier in the 14 days prior to the patient's diagnosis of the virus. KAN's Mark Weiss spoke about the new app with Ran Bar-Zik, a developer at Verizon Media and a tech reporter for Haaretz newspaper.
