This weekend marks the 20th anniversary of the pullout of the Israeli army from the security zone in south Lebanon after a bloody 18 year occupation there. There are no official ceremonies and neither does the government recognize that conflict that saw nearly 700 soldiers killed and thousands wounded as any official war. Nevertheless, this Saturday night a demonstration, or a gathering rather, will be happening in Tel Aviv to mark the event. One of the organizers is Haim Har-Zahav, a journalist and author of the book Lebanon, the lost war. He spoke with reporter Arieh O’Sullivan.
