The economic cabinet will increase the government grant to about 800,00 needy Israelis. To pay for this the more affluent will no longer be entitled to the cash handout. Top officials in the public service who earn 30,000 shekels a month or more and those who earn more than 640,000 shekels a year in the private sector will not receive the grant.
