The alleged gang rape of a 16-year-old intoxicated girl by a group of some 30 men at a hotel in Eilat has sent shockwaves through Israel. Israeli leaders condemned the alleged assault and demonstrations were called around the country. Two Hadera residents in their 20s have been arrested for suspected involvement.

Orit Sulitzeanu, Executive Director of the Association of Rape Crisis Centers in Israel, described the alleged assault as "evil" and told KAN's Naomi Segal it could be the most brutal case of sexual assault to have happened in Israel.
