Israel's Arab sector is currently facing high coronavirus infection rates, with karge weddings, where social distancing guidelines are not being adhered to, considered main focal points for the spread of infections.

Ola Najami-Yusef, co-director of the Safe Communities initiative at the Abraham Initiatives, a shared society organization, told KAN's Naomi Segal that government coronavirus awareness efforts were delayed in the Arab Israeli sector in the first wave of infection. Currently, she said, bringing down infection rates requires both personal responsibility not to participate in large gatherings, as well as greater enforcement to prevent them from happening.
