Transformation is the theme of the 8th International Photography Festival which opened November 9th in Tel Aviv's Kikar HaMedina, and in line with the challenges of the coronavirus pandemic, festival organizers adapted the format to encompass both outdoor exhibitions and online programming. The festival, featuring the works of dozens of artists from around the, runs through November 21st and is free of charge. It will travel to other Israeli cities over the coming year. The festival is the highlight of the yearlong activities of Photo Is:rael, a non profit dedicated to the promotion of the art of photography as a channel for social engagement, education and community outreach.  KAN reporter Naomi Segal heard more from  heard more from the chief curator, Maya Anner.
