In response to reports that a scheduled meeting of the Supreme Planning and Construction Committee for Judea and Samaria had been canceled  again, the Yesha settlers' Council has called on Prime Minister Naftali Bennett and Defense Minister Benny Gantz not to freeze construction in the settlements.

Yesha Council officials are afraid that what they term the de facto construction freeze in the settlements, which was begun by the previous government, will continue under the new government.

The Yesha Council issued a statement reading: “For eight months now the Planning and Construction Committee has not been convened and no construction plans for Judea, Samaria and the Jordan Valley have been approved. That is a very troubling state of affairs.”

KAN's Mark Weiss spoke with Oded Revivi, the mayor of Efrat, one of the largest West Bank settlements.
