The cabinet has approved the state budget  in a unanimous vote. The budget for 2021 will be NIS 432 billion and NIS 452 billion for 2022. The deficit in 2021 will stand at 6.8% and in 2022 the deficit is projected to be 3.9%.

The Health Ministry’s budget will be increased by NIS 2 billion on top of the automatic annual growth in the budget. The cabinet voted in favor of cutting all of the other ministries’ budgets across the board by 1.5%, with the exception of the defense budget, to pay for the cost of increasing the Health Ministry’s budget.
