The State Comptroller has slammed a wide number of government ministries and authorities for failing to confront the lawlessness among the Bedouins in the Negev. More specifically, the report said that there is rampant tax evasion, polygamy, protection payments and attacks on both civilian and military infrastructure. The NGO Regavim, which monitors Bedouin activity, said much of the report was based on data they had provided to the state comptroller. Naomi Kahn, director of Regavim’s International Division said that they hoped steps would be taken now to help the Bedouin and return the rule of law to the Negev.
