U.S. pro-Israel and Jewish organizations from across the political spectrum have  welcomed news of Michael Herzog's appointment as Israel's next ambassador to the Washington, citing his diplomatic and military experience as well as his personal aptitude.

Prime Minister Naftali Bennett chose Herzog, the brother of President Yitzhak Herzog, to serve in the position with the full backing of Foreign Minister  Yair Lapid. 

Former Foreign Ministry Director General Avi Gil knows Mike Herzog well and  recently the two worked together at the Jewish People Policy Institute.

KAN's Mark Weiss asked him if Mike Herzog is a good choice for Israel’s next ambassador to the US.
