A 44-year-old man was shot to death in the Arab village Ba’ine. The assailant fled in a car. This is the 100th victim since the beginning of the year in the wave of violence that has swept Arab society.

In an effort to combat the violence the cabinet yesterday approved a motion to expand the police’s authority to conduct searches without a warrant. But Joint List MK Aida Touma-Sliman  opposes this and other proposals that infringe on the civil rights of Arab citizens.
