Israel's Supreme Court disqualified far-right candidate Michael Ben Ari of the Otzma Yehudit Party from running in the Knesset election, but permitted his party colleague to run, as well as the Arab lists. The rulings essentially heeded the recommendations of the attorney general, while overturning decisions by the Central Elections Committee.

KAN reporter Naomi Segal asked Prof. Abraham Diskin, professor emeritus of political science at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, if he was surprised by the court rulings and what impact they might have on the election campaign.
