A multi-disciplinary team of Israeli scientists, archaeologists and brewmasters have managed to produce a high-quality beer from yeast that is approximately 5,000 years old. The yeast cultures were found in ancient clay vessels that had contained beer and mead, dating from 3000 BCE to the 4th century BCE. Professor Yuval Gadot from the Department of Archaeology at Tel Aviv University spoke to KAN's Naomi Segal about the significance of the achievement.
