The Palestinians have abandoned their request for a vote at the UN Security Council  on rejecting the U.S. Mideast peace plan, over a lack of international support.

Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas still plans to participate in the  session on U.S. President Donald Trump's Deal of the Century, which paves the way for Israeli annexation of 30 percent of the West Bank but also allows for a demilitarized Palestinian state.

Israel's UN ambassador Danny Danon spoke with KAN's Mark Weiss about his efforts to win support for Israel's position ahead of the Security Council deliberations.
