Despite rebel shock advance, Assad regime not about to fall
Jonathan Spyer, director of research at the Middle East Forum, says that the Assad’s regime, now bolstered by Iranian-backed militias from Iraq and Hizbullah fighters from Lebanon as well as the Russian air force, is not in danger of falling at this time. But, he said in an interview with Arieh O’Sullivan, the rebel’s quick capture of Allepo shows how weak the Iran-led axis has become.
