TAU cancer biologist among laureates of Blavatnik Award for Young Scientists

The Blavatnik Family Foundation, the Israel Academy of Sciences and Humanities and the New York Academy of Sciences have announced the laureates of the 2026 Blavatnik Awards for Young Scientists in Israel, which recognizes their groundbreaking research. Among this year's recipients is Prof. Uri Ben-David, a cancer biologist at Tel Aviv University. He spoke to KAN's Naomi Segal

Deadly hantavirus hits cruise ship. Should we be worried?

Two people in a serious condition who were evacuated from a cruise ship with a confirmed outbreak of deadly hantavirus have arrived in the Netherlands for treatment. Three people who were aboard the ship have died. 8 cases of hantavirus - 3 confirmed and five suspected - have so far been identified in people who were on the ship. Salome returns to the Israeli Opera

Richard Strauss's opera Salome returns to the Israeli Opera stage this month, with performances May 8-18th, featuring two casts of Israeli and international artists.
