WhatsApp co-founder donates record $200 million to Shaare Zedek Medical Center

Shaare Zedek Medical Center in Jerusalem has received a record $200 million donation from the Koum Family Foundation, established by WhatsApp co-founder Jan Koum. The gift will support construction of a 24-story medical tower that will significantly increase the capacity of the hospital. Government moves to keep politics off campuses

Israeli university heads have reacted angrily to the move by Education Minister Yoav Kisch to advance a bill imposing financial sanctions on educational institutions unless they keep politics out of academia. “We are putting an end to the politicization of university presidents,” Kisch tweeted. Deadly hantavirus hits cruise ship. Should we be worried?

Two people in a serious condition who were evacuated from a cruise ship with a confirmed outbreak of deadly hantavirus have arrived in the Netherlands for treatment. Three people who were aboard the ship have died. 8 cases of hantavirus - 3 confirmed and five suspected - have so far been identified in people who were on the ship.
