There’s a revolution in mental health care that is using AI, or artificial intelligence, as a tool that is able to detect in real time a person’s mental distress and even suicidal tendencies. Developed by an Israeli company, the first-of-its kind tool evaluates psychological risks which, it says, ensures that no cry for help goes unheard. The company, Mood Knight, has already applied it to social networks so it can interdict with lifesaving interventions to a person it detects is in need. The software automatically analyzes Internet texts, posts, messages and recordings providing mental health organizations with warnings of severe distress so they can act, quickly. Arnie Draiman, a consultant for Mood Knight, told reporter Arieh O’Sullivan that the program has already seen success in the Israeli website 4Girls but it not limited to just adolescents.
